here we are at the border. this was one of the scarier part of our time in haiti. the line between the dominican republic and haiti is invisible and short. heartland alliance specializes in child protection services so a large part of their work involves monitoring the border for child trafficking and child slavery. of course this would later become a big issue in the news, but the practice of taking "orphans" away from haiti to the US is common and easy.
thank God for people who are fighting for the rights and protection of children.
